Can You Install WordPress on Weebly?

Last updated on December 31, 2022 @ 7:10 am

WordPress is a content management system (CMS) that enables you to create a website or blog from scratch, or to improve an existing website. Weebly is a website builder that allows you to create a website without any coding knowledge.

Both WordPress and Weebly are free to use, and both have paid plans that offer additional features.

So, can you install WordPress on Weebly? The short answer is no.

Weebly does not allow users to install WordPress (or any other third-party platform) on their servers. However, there is a workaround that allows you to embed your WordPress site into a Weebly site. Keep reading to learn how to do this.

The first thing you need to do is sign up for a Weebly account and create a new site. Once you’ve done this, go to the Settings tab and click on the “Edit HTML/CSS” option. In the HTML/CSS Editor, paste the following code into the <head> section:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="https://YOUR-WORDPRESS-SITE.com/wp-content/themes/YOUR-THEME/style.css?ver=4.9.8" />

Replace “YOUR-WORDPRESS-SITE” with your actual WordPress site URL and “YOUR-THEME” with the name of your theme. If you’re not sure what your theme name is, you can find it by logging into your WordPress dashboard and going to Appearance > Themes.

PRO TIP: Weebly is a popular website builder that allows users to create and build their own websites. However, Weebly does not support the installation of WordPress. Therefore, if you try to install WordPress on Weebly, you will likely encounter errors.

Once you’ve added this code, click on the “Update” button and then go back to the Settings tab. In the Settings tab, scroll down to the “Advanced Settings” section and click on the “Manage Domain” option.

In the Manage Domain window, scroll down to the “Domain Forwarding” section and enter your WordPress site URL in the “Forward To” field. Make sure the “Forward Type” is set to “Permanent (301)” and then click on the “Add Forwarding” button.

Now that you’ve added domain forwarding, visitors who go to your Weebly site will be automatically redirected to your WordPress site. Keep in mind that this solution is not ideal, as it can cause issues with search engine optimization (SEO) and lead to a lower quality score for your Weebly site.
