How Do I Cut Out an Image in Photoshop?

In Photoshop, there are a number of ways to cut out an image. The most common way is to use the pen tool.

With the pen tool selected, click around the image that you want to cut out. As you click, you will create anchor points.

There are many steps involved and it is easy to make mistakes. If you are not careful, you could end up with an unusable image.

These anchor points will define the shape of the line that you are drawing. Once you have clicked around the entire image that you want to cut out, right-click and select “Make Selection.”

You can also use the lasso tool to make a selection around the image that you want to cut out. Simply click and drag the lasso around the image.

Once you have made your selection, go to Select > Inverse to inverse the selection. Then hit delete on your keyboard to remove the background.
