Are Figma Files Saved Locally?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 1:34 am

When it comes to Figma, there are a lot of different opinions out there about where files are saved. The cloud-based design platform offers a lot of advantages, but some people worry about the security of their data. So, are Figma files saved locally?

The short answer is yes, Figma files are saved locally. When you create a new file or project in Figma, it is automatically saved to your device.

You can then access it anytime, even if you’re not connected to the internet. This means that your data is always safe and secure.

PRO TIP: Figma files are not saved locally by default. If you would like to save a copy of your Figma file locally, you can do so by going to File > Export > Export as .fig.

Figma’s offline mode also means that you can continue working on your designs even if you’re not connected to the internet. All of your changes will be automatically synced the next time you connect.

So, if you’re worried about the security of your data, rest assured that Figma takes care of everything for you. Your files are always safe and sound, and you can access them anytime, anywhere.
