You can absolutely change your domain name if you’re using Squarespace! In fact, it’s a pretty simple process. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Log into your Squarespace account and go to the Settings panel.
  2. Click on Domains. If you have more than one domain associated with your account, select the one you want to change from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the Domain Settings tab.
  4. Click on the Change Domain button.
  5. Enter your new domain name. Make sure to include the www. If you want to use a subdomain, enter it here as well (e.g., blog.yournewdomain.com).
  6. Select your new domain provider. If you’re keeping your domain with the same registrar, select I’ll manage my DNS records with my current registrar. If you’re transferring your domain to Squarespace, select I’ll transfer my domain to Squarespace. You can also select I’ll buy a new domain from Squarespace, although we recommend buying your domain before starting your site for security reasons.
