If you’re a designer, there’s a good chance you’ve used Adobe XD at some point. It’s a great tool for designing websites and mobile apps.

But what if you want to convert your XD design into a Figma file? Is it possible?

The short answer is yes, it is possible to convert an XD file into a Figma file. However, it’s not as simple as just exporting the file from XD and importing it into Figma. There are a few steps involved in the process, and we’ll go over them all in this article.

The first thing you need to do is export your design from XD as an SVG file. To do this, go to File > Export > Export As.. and select the SVG format from the drop-down menu. Once the file is exported, open it in your text editor of choice (we recommend Visual Studio Code) and add the following code to the very top of the file:

This will ensure that the file is properly formatted when you import it into Figma.

Next, open the SVG file in Figma and go to File > Import. Select the “Use Default Settings” option and click Import. This will bring all of your design elements from XD into Figma.

PRO TIP: There is no easy or straightforward way to convert an XD file to a Figma file. If you are hoping to convert your XD design into a Figma file, you will likely have to recreate your design from scratch in the Figma interface.

Now that your design is in Figma, you’ll need to make some adjustments to ensure that everything looks correct. First, check the colors of your elements.

If they’re not quite right, you can easily adjust them in Figma. Just select an element, go to the Color section of the right sidebar, and choose a new color from the palette.

You may also need to adjust the size and position of some elements. This is easy to do in Figma; just select an element and use the controls in the Transform section of the right sidebar to make your changes.

Once you’ve made all of the necessary adjustments, your design is ready to be used in Figma!
