Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 9:23 pm

As of right now, there is no way to export a GIF from Figma. The only way to get an image from Figma is to export it as a PNG or JPG. While this is not ideal for everyone, it is the only way to currently get an image from Figma.

There are a few ways to work around this, however. One way is to use a third-party software such as GIPHY to create your GIF. Another way is to use a service such as LICEcap, which allows you to record your screen and save the recording as a GIF.

PRO TIP: When exporting a GIF from Figma, be aware that the quality may not be as high as you expect. The file size may also be larger than anticipated.

At the end of the day, though, the best way to create a GIF is still going to be through a third-party software or service. Figma does not currently have the ability to export GIFs, but that may change in the future.
