Since then, it has become the de facto industry standard in raster graphics editing, to the point that Photoshop has become a generic trademark leading to its use as a verb such as “to Photoshop an image”, “photoshopping” and “Photoshop contest”, though Adobe discourages such use.
So, can you get Adobe Photoshop for free? Unfortunately, the answer is no.
Photoshop is a commercial product, and you will need to purchase a license in order to use it legally. However, there are some alternatives that you may be able to use if you cannot afford a license for Photoshop.
GIMP is one of the most popular alternatives to Photoshop. It is a free and open source program with many of the same features as Photoshop. However, GIMP does have a bit of a learning curve, so it may not be the best option if you are new to image editing.
Another option is Paint.NET. This program is free for personal and educational use.
It has a fairly simple interface and can be used for basic image editing tasks. However, it lacks some of the more advanced features that are found in Photoshop.
If you absolutely cannot afford to purchase a license for Photoshop, then one of these two alternatives may be a good option for you. However, keep in mind that both GIMP and Paint.NET have fairly steep learning curves when compared to Photoshop.
