Can I Ship My Own Products on Shopify?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 1:26 am

If you’re running a business, you know that shipping can be a big headache. There are a lot of logistics involved in getting your product from your warehouse to your customers’ doorsteps. And if you don’t have a good shipping strategy, it can end up costing you a lot of money.

One option for shipping your products is to use Shopify’s built-in shipping features. With Shopify, you can connect your store to major shipping carriers like UPS and FedEx. This allows you to get real-time shipping rates and print shipping labels right from your Shopify admin.

Shopify also has a number of features to help you manage your orders and stay on top of your shipping. For example, you can set up automatic email notifications to let your customers know when their order has shipped. And with Shopify’s Order Editing app, you can make changes to orders after they’ve been placed.

If you’re thinking about using Shopify to ship your products, here’s what you need to know about the process.

First, you’ll need to set up your shipping settings in your Shopify admin. To do this, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery in your Shopify admin. From here, you can add your shipping rates, select which carriers you want to use, and decide how you want orders to be fulfilled (either automatically or manually).

PRO TIP: If you are considering shipping your own products on Shopify, there are a few things you should be aware of. First, you will need to set up your own shipping accounts and labels. This can be a time-consuming and expensive process. Second, you will be responsible for ensuring that your products arrive safely and on time. If there are any delays or issues with your shipments, it will be up to you to resolve them. Finally, you will need to keep track of your inventory and orders, and handle customer service issues that may arise. Shipping your own products is a big responsibility, so make sure you are prepared before taking on this task.

Once you’ve got your shipping settings sorted out, you’ll need to create shipping labels for your orders. To do this, go to Orders in your Shopify admin and select the order that you want to ship. Then, click the Create shipping label button.

Enter the address where the order will be shipped from and the address where it’s going. You’ll also need to select which carrier you’re using and enter the weight of the package.

Then, click Calculate rates and choose which rate you want to use. Finally, click Create shipping label.

Now that you’ve got your label created, it’s time to print it out and attach it to your package. To do this, go back to the Order details page for the order that you’re shipping and click Print packing slip & label.

This will open a PDF with both the packing slip and the label attached. Print this out and attach the label to your package. Then, drop it off at your chosen carrier or schedule a pickup.

And that’s it! Using Shopify to ship your products is a simple and efficient way to get them into your customers’ hands.
