Can I use Google fonts in Figma?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 7:08 pm

Google fonts are a great way to add typography to your designs. However, there are a few caveats to keep in mind when using Google fonts in Figma.

First, Google fonts are loaded into your web browser, so you’ll need to make sure your web browser is configured to allow this. If you’re not sure how to do this, you can find instructions on the Google Fonts website.

PRO TIP: Google fonts are not currently supported in Figma. If you attempt to use a Google font, it will not render correctly in the design.

Second, the fonts are delivered as a font file, which you’ll need to copy into your Figma folder. You can find the folder on your computer by opening Figma and clicking on the Files tab, and then locating the Google Fonts folder.

Finally, you’ll need to include the Google Fonts reference in your design. To do this, select the font in the Fonts panel and click on the Properties button.

In the Properties panel, locate the Google Fonts reference and enter it into the Fonts field.
