If you have a domain name, you can use it with Shopify. You can either transfer your domain to Shopify or keep it registered with your current domain provider and simply update your domain’s DNS settings.
PRO TIP: If you are considering using your domain with Shopify, be aware that there are some potential risks. First, your domain could be suspended or canceled if Shopify determines that you are using it in a way that violates their terms of service. Additionally, your domain could be blacklisted by search engines if you are using it to direct traffic to a site that is selling counterfeit goods. Finally, if you are using your domain to set up an online store, be aware that Shopify’s fees can be quite high.
If you transfer your domain to Shopify, we’ll take care of everything and your domain will be automatically connected to your shop. If you keep your domain registered with your current provider, you’ll need to update your DNS settings to point to Shopify.
