Can Wix Create Login Page?

Last updated on January 6, 2023 @ 9:55 am

There’s no doubt that Wix is a great website builder. It’s easy to use, has tons of features and templates, and is suitable for businesses of all sizes.

However, one thing it doesn’t have is a built-in login page feature. This means that if you want to create a login page for your website, you’ll need to use a third-party solution.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

Fortunately, there are plenty of options available, and we’ve rounded up the best ones for you. In this article, we’ll show you how to create a login page with Wix, using three different methods:

  1. Use Wix Code to create a custom login page
  2. Use Wix Forms to create a login page
  3. Use a third-party solution like OneLogin or Loginify.

Let’s get started!

Creating a Login Page with Wix Code

  • If you’re comfortable with coding, then the best way to create a login page with Wix is to use the Wix Code feature. With Wix Code, you can add custom code to your website to create anything you want. This includes a login page.
  • To get started, log into your Wix account and go to the Editor. In the left sidebar, click on the +Add button and then select Code from the drop-down menu. This will open the Wix Code panel where you can start adding your code:
  • Now that you have the Wix Code panel open, it’s time to start adding your code. The first thing you need is a form for users to fill out when they want to log in. You can add this form by clicking on the +Add button and selecting Form from the drop-down menu:
  • Once you’ve added the form element, you can start adding input fields for each piece of information you need from your users. In this case, we’ll need an input field for their username and another for their password:
  • After you’ve added all of the input fields that you need, it’s time to add some code so that users can actually log in with their username and password. To do this, click on the +Add button again and select Page from the drop-down menu. This will add a new page to your website where you can add your code:
  • On this new page, you’ll need to add two functions: one for logging in and one for logging out. The login function will take care of checking if the username and password are correct, and if they are, it will redirect the user to their account page (or wherever else you want them to go). The logout function will simply log out the user and redirect them back to the login page.
  • Here’s what these functions might look like:
Now that you have your code written, it’s time to test it out! Log into your account with your username and password and see if it works as expected.
PRO TIP: Can Wix Create Login Page?

If you are looking to create a login page on your website, we recommend that you do not use Wix. While Wix may be a good option for creating a basic website, it is not well-suited for creating a login page. This is because Wix does not allow you to create custom code, which is necessary for creating a login page. If you try to create a login page on your Wix site, you will likely run into problems.

Creating a Login Page with Wix Forms

  • If coding isn’t your thing (or if you don’t have time to learn), then don’t worry – there’s an easier way to create a login page with Wix. With the Wix Forms feature, you can easily add forms to your website without having to write any code. And best of all, it comes with built-in features for creating a login page!
  • To get started, log into your Wix account and go to the Editor. In the left sidebar, click on +Add and then select Form from the drop-down menu:
  • This will open up the forms builder where you can start creating your login form:
  • First, give your form a name (like “Login Form”) and then start adding input fields for each piece of information you need from users (in this case just username and password). You can also choose whether or not each field is required:
  • Once you’ve added all of the fields that you need, it’s time to set up your form action. This is what will happen when someone submits your form – in this case we want them to be logged in automatically.
  • To do this, click on Actions in the left sidebar and then select Login from the drop-down menu:
  • This will bring up a popup window where you can choose what happens when someone submits your form – in this case we want them redirected to their account page (or wherever else):
  • And that’s it! Your login form is now ready to go.
  • If You’re Using an External Solution..There are also plenty of external solutions available if You don’t wantto use Wix Forms or Wix Code.
  • Two popular options are OneLoginand Loginify.
  • Both services offer free plans that should be more than enoughfor most small businesses.
