There are a few things you should know about Clearpay before you decide to use it as your payment method on Squarespace.

  • For one, Clearpay is only available to shoppers in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Secondly, using Clearpay on Squarespace requires that you first set up a merchant account with them. Lastly, there are some fees associated with using Clearpay which we will go over in more detail later on.

Assuming you are based in one of the countries where Clearpay is available and you have set up a merchant account with them, adding Clearpay as a payment option to your Squarespace site is a fairly straightforward process. You will need to add some code to your site’s CSS and then configure your payments settings in the Squarespace backend.

The first thing you will need to do is add the following code to your site’s CSS:

PRO TIP: If you are thinking about adding Clearpay to your Squarespace account, you should be aware of a few things. First, Clearpay is a third-party service, which means that you will be responsible for any fees associated with using it. Additionally, Clearpay is not affiliated with Squarespace, so you will need to contact their customer support if you have any questions or problems. Finally, be sure to read the terms and conditions of use before signing up for an account, as there may be some restrictions that you are not aware of.
.clearpay-button {
  background-color: #FFC107; /* fallback for old browsers */
  background-color: -webkit-linear-gradient(to right, #FFC107 , #FFA000);
  /* Chrome 10-25, Safari 5.1-6 */
  background-color: linear-gradient(to right, #FFC107 , #FFA000);
  /* W3C, IE 10+/ Edge, Firefox 16+, Chrome 26+, Opera 12+, Safari 7+ */
  border: none;
  color: white;
  padding: 15px 32px;
  text-align: center;
  text-decoration: none;
  display: inline-block;
  font-size: 16px;
}

Next, you will need to go into your Squarespace payments settings and select “Clearpay” as one of the options. Once you have done that, your site will be able to accept payments via Clearpay.

Now let’s talk about the fees associated with using Clearpay on Squarespace. First of all, there is a 2.9% + $0.30 transaction fee for every purchase made using Clearpay.

Additionally, if a shopper elects to use Clearpay’s “Buy Now, Pay Later” option, there is a $6 fee for each installment plan set up. Lastly, if a shopper misses an installment payment or pays late, there is a $12 fee charged by Clearpay.

In conclusion, adding Clearpay as a payment option to your Squarespace site is a fairly straightforward process as long as you are based in one of the countries where they operate and have set up a merchant account with them. There are some fees associated with using their service which include a 2.30 transaction fee per purchase as well as some additional fees for using their “Buy Now, Pay Later” option.
