Can You Add HTML Code to Wix?

Last updated on January 4, 2023 @ 11:24 am

HTML is the standard markup language for creating websites and web applications. Wix is a popular website builder that allows users to create and customize their own websites.

While Wix does not support HTML code directly, there are a few workarounds that allow you to add HTML to your Wix site.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

Method 1: Use an HTML iFrame

The first method is to use an HTML < iframe > element. This will allow you to embed an HTML document inside of your Wix site.

To do this, simply create an HTML file with the code you want to add to your site and upload it to a web server. Then, use the following code to embed the file into your Wix site:

Replace “http://www.html” with the URL of the HTML file you uploaded. You can also change the width and height values to adjust the size of the embedded document.

PRO TIP: If you are considering adding HTML code to your Wix site, be aware that this is not possible. Wix does not allow users to add HTML code to their sites. This is because HTML code can conflict with the Wix platform and cause your site to malfunction. If you want to add custom code to your site, you will need to use a third-party platform.

Method 2: Use a Third-Party Service

If you’re not comfortable working with code, there are a few third-party services that allow you to add HTML to your Wix site without having to edit any code. One popular service is called “Wix Code.” This service allows you to add custom code to your Wix site without having to edit the underlying HTML code.

There is a free version of Wix Code available, as well as a paid version with more features.

Method 3: Use a Custom Domain

If you have a custom domain (e.g., www.com), you can use that domain to host your own website. This website can be built using any web development platform, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Once you have created your website, simply point your custom domain name to the website’s IP address.

Adding HTML code to your Wix site is possible, but it requires a bit of workarounds since Wix does not support HTML code directly.
