Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 7:17 pm

Shortcuts are a powerful tool in Figma. They allow you to quickly access common features in the software, saving you time and energy.

However, shortcuts can also be customized to better fit your needs. In this article, we will discuss how to customize shortcuts in Figma.

First, open the preferences window by clicking on the Preferences icon (…) in the upper-right corner of the interface. Next, click on the Shortcuts tab.

Here, you can modify the default shortcuts for various features in the software. For example, you can change the shortcut for creating a new document to ctrl+n, or the shortcut for selecting a file to cmd+f.

PRO TIP: If you change a keyboard shortcut in Figma, it will only apply to new projects. It will not affect any existing projects.

Additionally, you can create your own shortcuts. To do this, first click on the + button next to the Shortcut field and type in the desired shortcut.

Then, press Enter to save the shortcut. Once you have created a new shortcut, you can drag it to the desired location on the interface.

Finally, you can also disable or enable shortcuts. To do this, click on the Disable All button next to the Shortcut field and then click on the Enable All button to enable all shortcuts.

Alternatively, you can disable individual shortcuts by clicking on the Disable button next to the Shortcut field and then clicking on the Enable button to enable the specific shortcut.

When you are finished customizing shortcuts, click on the OK button to close the preferences window.
