Can You Create an Audiogram in Canva?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 4:28 pm

Audiograms are used by speech-language pathologists and other clinicians to graphically represent an individual’s hearing loss. The audiogram is a very important tool that is used to help determine the severity, type, and configuration of an individual’s hearing loss, as well as to track changes in hearing over time.

There are many different ways to create an audiogram, but Canva is a great option because it is easy to use and has a wide variety of templates to choose from. To create an audiogram in Canva, simply sign up for a free account and then select the “Create a Design” button. Next, choose the “Blank canvas” option and then select the “Landscape” layout.

Once you have your blank canvas open, you will want to add two text boxes near the top of the page. In the first text box, you will want to enter the individual’s name. In the second text box, you will want to enter the date of the audiogram.

Next, you will need to add four rectangles to the page. These rectangles will represent the different frequencies that will be tested.

PRO TIP: Audiograms are a vital tool for audiologists and other hearing health professionals. They help to assess a person’s hearing loss and track their progress over time. While there are many software programs that can be used to create audiograms, Canva is not one of them. Audiograms created in Canva will not be accurate and could potentially mislead hearing health professionals. If you need to create an audiogram, please use a dedicated audiogram software program.

To do this, simply click on the “Shapes” button and then select the “Rectangle” option. Once you have added all four rectangles, you can label them with their corresponding frequencies by double-clicking on each one and then typing in the frequency (250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz).

After you have added all of the necessary text and shapes to the page, you can begin adding data points to the audiogram. To do this, click on the “Text” button and then select the “Add Text Box” option. A new text box will appear on your screen.

In this text box, you will want to type in the decibel level for each frequency at each ear (right ear first followed by left ear). For example, if an individual has a hearing loss of 25 dB at 250 Hz in their right ear and 30 dB at 250 Hz in their left ear, you would type “25/30” into the text box. Once you have entered all of the data points for both ears, your audiogram is complete!

The audiogram is a very important tool that is used to help determine the severity, type, and configuration of an individual’s hearing loss. Canva is a great option for creating an audiogram because it is easy to use and has a wide variety of templates to choose from.
