Can You Cut Out Images in Figma?

Figma is a great vector design tool that’s used by many professional designers. One of its best features is that it’s very easy to cut out images in Figma.

To do this, simply select the image you want to cut out, then click on the “Cut” button in the top toolbar. Figma will automatically trace the outline of the image and create a new vector path. You can then use this path to create a new shape or edit the existing one.

If you want to cut out a complex image, you can use the “Quick Selection” tool to manually select the parts of the image you want to keep. Once you’ve made your selection, click on the “Cut” button and Figma will do the rest.

You can also use the “Eraser” tool to delete unwanted parts of an image. Simply select the tool and then click and drag over the areas you want to remove. When you’re done, click on the “Cut” button and Figma will erase those parts of the image.

So there you have it! Cutting out images in Figma is a quick and easy way to create complex shapes and illustrations. Give it a try next time you need to create a vector graphic.

PRO TIP: If you use the “Cut Out” tool in Figma, be aware that it can result in some unexpected behaviours. In particular, it can sometimes leave “orphaned” objects behind that are not properly attached to the rest of the image. If you are not careful, this can result in a messy design.

Can You Cut Out Images in Figma?

Yes, you can cut out images in Figma using either the “Quick Selection” tool or the “Eraser” tool. Both tools are located in the top toolbar.
