Can You Edit HTML in Wix?

Last updated on January 9, 2023 @ 8:29 pm

Wix is a popular website builder that allows users to create professional-looking websites without any coding knowledge. But what if you do have some coding skills and want to take your Wix website to the next level by editing the HTML? Can you do that with Wix?

The short answer is: yes, you can edit HTML in Wix. However, it’s not as simple as just clicking a button and accessing the HTML code like you would with a traditional website editor. Here’s how you can edit HTML in Wix.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

  1. Access the HTML code through the Wix Editor

To edit HTML in Wix, you’ll need to access the HTML code of your website. Here’s how to do it:

  • Go to the Wix Editor and click on the site menu in the top left corner.
  • From the dropdown menu, select “Edit Site.” This will open the Wix Editor.
  • In the Wix Editor, click on the “Add” button in the top left corner and select “HTML Code” from the dropdown menu.
  • A window will pop up with a blank HTML code box. You can paste your HTML code into this box and click “Apply.”
  1. Use the Wix Corvid API

Another way to edit HTML in Wix is by using the Wix Corvid API. Corvid is an open development platform that allows you to use JavaScript to create custom functionality for your Wix website. With Corvid, you can access and edit the HTML code of your website by using the Wix Code API.

To use the Wix Corvid API, you’ll need to have some knowledge of JavaScript. If you’re comfortable with coding, this can be a great way to add custom functionality to your Wix website.

  1. Use a third-party HTML editor

If you want to edit the HTML of your Wix website but don’t want to use the Wix Editor or Corvid, you can use a third-party HTML editor. There are many HTML editors available online that allow you to edit HTML code and then upload it to your Wix website.

One thing to keep in mind is that editing the HTML of your Wix website can be a little risky. If you’re not careful, you could potentially break your website. It’s always a good idea to make a backup of your website before making any changes.

PRO TIP: You can edit HTML in Wix, but it requires a little more effort than with a traditional website editor. Whether you use the Wix Editor, the Wix Corvid API, or a third-party HTML editor, you’ll need some coding knowledge to make changes to the HTML of your Wix website.
