Can You Go Back in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 9:27 pm

Designers who are used to working in Photoshop may be wondering if Figma has a way to go back to previous versions of a design, like Photoshop’s “History” feature. The answer is yes! In Figma, you can go back to previous versions of your design using the “File > Version History” menu item.

When you select this menu item, Figma will show you a list of all the different versions of the file that have been saved. You can then click on any version to restore it.

One thing to keep in mind is that when you restore a previous version, Figma will create a new version of the file. This means that if you make any further changes, you won’t be able to go back to the restored version.

If you want to be able to go back and forth between different versions, you can use the “File > Save As” menu item to save each version as a separate file.

Conclusion

So, yes – Figma does have a way for you to go back to previous versions of your design. However, it’s important to keep in mind that when you do so, Figma will create a new version of the file. If you want to be able to go back and forth between different versions, you’ll need to save each one as a separate file.

PRO TIP: If you attempt to go back in Figma, you may end up losing your work. Make sure to save your work before going back, or you may have to start all over again.
