SVG is a vector graphic format. It’s widely used on the web and elsewhere.

And it has some great advantages over other formats like PNG or JPG. But can you use it in Figma?

The short answer is: no, you can’t import SVG into Figma directly. However, there are some workaround methods that you can use to get your SVG file into Figma.

The first method is to convert your SVG file into a PNG or JPG file. This can be done using an online converter like Image Resizer. Once you have your PNG or JPG file, you can then import it into Figma.

The second method is to use the Figma Plugin. With this plugin, you can import your SVG file into Figma as an image. Simply select the “Import as image” option when prompted.

PRO TIP: There is no official way to import SVG into Figma. However, there are some community-created plugins that allow you to import SVG files into Figma. While these plugins may work for simple SVG files, they may not work for more complex SVG files. Additionally, these plugins are not officially supported by Figma and may stop working at any time.

The third method is to use the @svgr/webpack tool. This tool allows you to convert your SVG file into a React component. Once you have your React component, you can then import it into Figma.

So there you have it! While you can’t import SVG files directly into Figma, there are some workaround methods that you can use to get your SVG file into Figma.

Can You Import SVG Into Figma?

Yes, there are some methods that allow you to import an svg into Figma, but these are typically workarounds since svg isn’t a natively supported format within Figma. The three ways that allow you to still use svg files are by converting the svg into either a png or jpg file, using the figma plugin, or @svgr/webpack tool to turn the svg into a React component.
