Can You Link to a PDF in Figma?

The answer is yes!

You can use hyperlinks to link to a PDF file from anywhere inside of Figma. All you need is the URL of the PDF file that you want to link to.

To add a hyperlink in Figma, simply select the text or object that you want to turn into a link and then click the “Insert Link” icon in the toolbar. This will open the Link Settings dialog box.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to link to a PDF in Figma, be aware that there are some potential risks. First, the PDF may not render correctly in Figma, which could lead to confusion or frustration for your team. Additionally, linking to a PDF could potentially slow down your Figma file.

In the “URL” field, paste the URL of the PDF that you want to link to. Then click “OK” to save your changes.

Now when you click on the linked text or object, it will open up the PDF in a new browser tab. You can also right-click on the linked text or object and select “Open link in new tab” from the context menu. This is a great way to quickly open up a PDF for reference while you’re working on your design project.

So there you have it! Now you know how to link to a PDF file in Figma.
