Can You Play a Video in a Figma Prototype?

Yes, you can play a video in a Figma prototype! You can use the “Video” widget to add a video player to your prototype.

The video widget allows you to control the playback of your video, including playback speed, volume, and whether or not to loop the video. You can also choose to hide the controls so that users can’t pause or seek the video.

To add a video player to your prototype:

1. In the left sidebar, select the “Widgets” tab. 2. Drag the “Video” widget onto your canvas. 3. In the properties panel, click on the “Choose Video” button.

4. Select the video you want to use from your file browser. 5. Adjust the other settings in the properties panel as desired. 6. Click on the “Preview” button in the top bar to see your prototype in action!

The video widget is a great way to add rich media content to your prototypes. It’s also helpful for showing how an app or website might work with real-world footage.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that Figma prototypes are not able to play video. If you attempt to play a video in a Figma prototype, it will not work and you will not be able to see the video.
