GIFs are a popular way to share short, moving images on the internet. You might see them used in email signatures, social media posts, or even website design. But can you actually put a GIF in Figma?

The answer is yes! You can add GIFs to your Figma designs just like any other image file. Simply drag and drop the GIF into your design, or import it from your file library.

PRO TIP: GIFs can be imported into Figma but they will not animate.

Once you have added a GIF to your design, you can resize and move it just like any other image. You can also add text on top of it, or apply a mask to make part of the GIF transparent.

So if you want to add some moving images to your designs, don’t be afraid to use GIFs! Just remember that they might not always look perfect when exported to other formats like PNG or JPEG.
