Can You Remove Add to Cart Button on Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:51 am

As an ecommerce platform, Squarespace provides users with the ability to add a “buy now” or “add to cart” button to their site. However, you may want to remove this button for certain products, or even all products on your site. There are a few reasons why you might want to do this:

1. You only sell through a third-party provider like Amazon or Etsy, and don’t want customers to get confused and try to purchase directly from your site.

2. You offer services rather than products, so there’s no need for an “add to cart” button.

3. You’re selling high-end items that require more of a consultation process before purchase, and you don’t want customers to add them to their cart without speaking to you first.

Whatever your reason for wanting to remove the “add to cart” button, it’s easy to do in Squarespace. Just follow these steps:

PRO TIP: Please be aware that removing the ‘Add to Cart’ button on Squarespace could have negative consequences for your online store, including decreased sales and conversion rates. If you are considering making this change, we advise you to speak to a Squarespace Expert or eCommerce specialist first to understand the potential risks and implications.

1. Log into your Squarespace account and go to the page or product where you want to remove the button. In the Page Editor, click on the “Commerce” tab and then select “Products.”

3. Find the product you want to remove the button from and click on the gear icon next to it.

4. In the product settings pop-up, scroll down until you see the “Show Buy Button” setting. Change this from “Yes” to “No” and then click “Save.”

5. Repeat these steps for each product or page where you want to remove the “add to cart” button.

That’s all there is to it! Once you’ve saved your changes, visitors to your site will no longer see an “add to cart” button next to your products or in your shopping cart pages.
