Can You Share Account Credentials on UpWork?

As a freelancer, you may have considered using UpWork to find work. UpWork is a freelancing platform that allows businesses to post projects that freelancers can then bid on.

Once a freelancer is hired for a project, they are able to communicate with the client through UpWork’s messaging system and share files through the platform. But what about sharing account credentials? Can you do that on UpWork?

The answer is: it depends. If you’re sharing login information for a third-party website (like Facebook or Twitter), then you should not do that on UpWork. The reason is because UpWork’s terms of service state that you should not share sensitive information on the platform:

PRO TIP: Sharing account credentials on Upwork is not allowed and can result in account suspension.

“You will not upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available or initiate any content that: [..] contains sensitive information.”

However, if you’re simply sharing your own login information (for example, your email address and password), then it’s up to you whether or not you want to do that on UpWork. Just keep in mind that if you do choose to share your credentials on UpWork, you’re doing so at your own risk.

In conclusion, whether or not you can share account credentials on UpWork depends on the situation. If you’re sharing login information for a third-party website, then you should not do that on UpWork.

However, if you’re simply sharing your own login information, then it’s up to you whether or not you want to do that on UpWork.
