Can You Skew Text in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 9:25 pm

Skewing text is a popular effect in Photoshop, and it’s easy to do! Simply select the Type tool from the Toolbox, then click and drag to create your text. To skew the text, use the Free Transform command. First, make sure the text layer is highlighted in the Layers panel. Then go to Edit > Free Transform, or use the shortcut Ctrl+T (Windows) / Command+T (Mac). A bounding box will appear around the text.

PRO TIP: Skewing text in Photoshop can result in some unpredictable results. It is best to use other methods to achieve the desired effect.

To skew the text, click on a corner of the bounding box and drag it in or out. You can also use the Warp Text feature for more control over how your text is distorted. To do this, go to Edit > Transform > Warp Text. A grid will appear over your text. Click and drag on the grid to warp your text into different shapes.
