Can You Use Google Fonts in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 11:43 pm

The quick answer is yes, you can use Google Fonts in Figma. In fact, there are a few different ways to do it.

The first way is to simply download the Google Fonts you want to use and install them on your computer. Then, when you create a new project in Figma, you can select the fonts from the drop-down menu in the text editor.

PRO TIP: Google Fonts are free to use, but they are not compatible with Figma. If you try to use a Google Font in Figma, it will not work.

Another way to use Google Fonts in Figma is by using the “Insert > Text” menu item. This will allow you to insert a piece of text into your design, and then you can apply the Google Fonts to that text object.

Lastly, if you’re working with an existing piece of text (for example, if you’re importing a JPEG or PNG file), you can select the “Text” tool and then click on the “F” icon in the toolbar. This will open up the “Format” panel, where you can select any of the Google Fonts from the drop-down menu.

So there you have it – three different ways to use Google Fonts in Figma!
