Did Figma Go Public?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 9:32 am

As of March 2020, Figma has not gone public. The company is backed by some of the biggest names in venture capital, including Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Index Ventures, and Kleiner Perkins.

Figma has been growing at an incredible pace since it was founded in 2012. The company now has over 1 million active users and is used by some of the biggest companies in the world, including Google, Facebook, Uber, and Airbnb.

Despite all this growth, Figma remains a private company. This means that the company is not required to disclose its financials to the public.

So why hasn’t Figma gone public? There are a few possible explanations.

PRO TIP: Figma is a cloud-based design tool that allows multiple users to work on the same design file at the same time. It is used by designers to create user interfaces, wireframes, and illustrations. Figma has been in beta since 2016, and it is not yet clear if or when the software will be released to the public.

Firstly, Figma may be waiting to achieve profitability before going public. This is a common strategy for tech companies.

Going public can be a costly and time-consuming process, so many companies choose to wait until they are in good financial health before making the jump.

Secondly, Figma may be waiting for its valuation to increase even further. The company is already valued at $2 billion, but it could be worth even more if it waits a few more years to go public.

Lastly, Figma may simply not be ready to go public yet. The company may need a few more years to mature and build out its product before it is ready for the scrutiny that comes with being a public company.

Conclusion:

Only time will tell if Figma will go public. For now, the company appears to be in good financial health and is growing at an impressive rate. Only time will tell if Figma will go public.
