Do professional photographers use Lightroom or Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 3:50 pm

There is no single answer to this question as the two programs are very different in terms of their capabilities and use cases. Some professional photographers may use both programs, while others may prefer one over the other.

Ultimately, the decision comes down to what the photographer is most comfortable using.

When it comes to photo editing, Lightroom is often seen as the more traditional program. It is more geared towards editing images one at a time, with a more limited range of features.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that there is no definitive answer to this question as different photographers have different preferences and opinions. Some professional photographers use Lightroom, some use Photoshop, and some use both programs (or other programs entirely). Ultimately, it is up to the individual photographer to decide which program(s) they prefer to use.

However, Lightroom is also more user-friendly and has a wider range of plugins available, which can make it more powerful for certain tasks.

On the other hand, Photoshop is often seen as the more powerful program. It has a much greater range of features, and can be used to edit images as well as create new ones.

However, it can be more complex to use, and some photographers find it difficult to learn.
