Does DigitalOcean droplet IP change?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 2:13 pm

DigitalOcean has been known for its Droplets since 2013. Droplets are small, self-contained virtual servers.

Droplets can be run on any of the company’s operating systems, including Ubuntu, CentOS, and Fedora. Droplets are billed by the hour, and can be used for a wide variety of tasks, from development to hosting a website.

PRO TIP: If you are using a DigitalOcean droplet, be aware that the IP address may change. This can cause problems with your website or application if you are not using a static IP address.

In February 2019, DigitalOcean announced that it was introducing a new pricing scheme for Droplets. Droplets will now be priced by the number of cores and memory.

The new pricing scheme is aimed at making Droplets more affordable for larger organizations.

Droplets remain a cost-effective option for small businesses and home users. The new pricing scheme does not change the ease of use or the range of features available in Droplets.
