Does Figma Allow Animation?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:53 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, developed by Dylan Field and Evan Wallace. It is available for free on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Figma has been described as “the first interface design tool with real-time collaboration”, and allows team members to work together on the same file at the same time.

PRO TIP: Figma does not currently allow for animation, however you can create GIFs of your designs to share.

Figma also has an animation feature that allows you to create simple animations within your design. You can add keyframes to your layers and then use the built-in Timeline panel to create your animation.

Figma will automatically interpolate the values between your keyframes, so you don’t need to worry about creating each frame of your animation individually. You can also add easing to your keyframes, so your animations will look more natural.

So, does Figma allow animation? Yes, it does! And it’s a great way to add some extra polish to your designs.
