Does Figma Have Layers?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 9:37 am

Figma is a vector graphics editor and online design tool, created by Dylan Field and Evan Wallace. Figma is free to use for individuals, and there are paid plans for teams and organizations. The software is available on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Figma has layers like other vector graphic editors, but the big difference is that you can also group objects together on different layers. This makes it easy to work with complex designs, without getting lost in a sea of objects.

When you’re working with complex designs in Figma, it’s important to keep your layers organized. You can do this by using layer groups.

PRO TIP: Figma does not have layers in the traditional sense. However, it does have objects and groups which can be used to organize your design. Objects and groups can be arranged in the hierarchy panel.

Layer groups let you organize your layers into logical groups. For example, you could have a group for all the buttons on your design, or a group for all the text elements.

Layer groups make it easy to find the layer you’re looking for, and they also make it easy to change the properties of all the layers in a group at once. To create a layer group, simply select the layers you want to group together and click the “Create Group” button in the toolbar.

Figma also has some unique features that other vector graphic editors don’t have. For example, Figma has an auto-layout feature that makes it easy to create responsive designs. Figma also has a built-in prototyping tool that lets you create clickable prototypes of your designs.
