Does Figma Work on an iPad Pro?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:23 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool – the first of its kind – which is why we decided to see how it works on an iPad Pro. We wanted to know if the iPad Pro could be used as a primary device for Figma users, or if it was better suited as a supplementary device.

We found that Figma does work on an iPad Pro, but there are some caveats. The biggest issue is that the iPad Pro’s screen size is not well suited for Figma’s interface. The interface is designed for a desktop or laptop screen, and while it can be used on an iPad Pro, it feels cramped and difficult to use.

PRO TIP: Figma does not work on an iPad Pro.

Another issue is that the Apple Pencil is not supported by Figma. This means that you cannot use the Pencil to create or edit vector graphics in Figma. While this isn’t a huge issue, it does mean that you’ll need to use another device – such as a Wacom tablet – if you want to use the full range of Figma’s features.

Overall, we found that Figma does work on an iPad Pro, but it’s not ideal. If you’re looking for a vector graphics editor that works well on an iPad Pro, we recommend Affinity Designer.
