Does One Click Upsell Work With Shopify Payments?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:02 pm

It’s no secret that ecommerce is a competitive space. If you’re not using every tool at your disposal to increase your average order value, you’re likely falling behind. One way to do this is with one-click upsells.

Shopify Payments is a popular payment gateway for Shopify stores. It’s also one of the few that offers support for one-click upsells. In this article, we’ll take a look at how one-click upsells work with Shopify Payments and whether or not they’re worth using.

What are one-click upsells?

One-click upsells are a way to offer additional products to customers at the time of purchase. They’re typically used for high-margin products or products that complement the customer’s purchase.

For example, let’s say you sell t-shirts on your Shopify store. A customer adds a t-shirt to their cart and goes to checkout.

At checkout, they’re presented with an upsell for a pair of pants that go well with the t-shirt they’re buying. The customer can add the pants to their order with just one click.

One-click upsells are a great way to increase your average order value without interrupting the customer’s purchase flow. They’re also an effective way to cross-sell complementary products.

PRO TIP: If you are using Shopify Payments, One Click Upsell will not work. This is because Shopify Payments does not allow for third-party upsells. If you want to use One Click Upsell, you will need to switch to a different payment gateway.

How do one-click upsells work with Shopify Payments?

Shopify Payments is one of the few payment gateways that offers support for one-click upsells. This means that you can use Shopify Payments to take payments for one-click upsells without having to redirect customers to another page or another payment gateway.

To set up one-click upsells with Shopify Payments, you first need to create a new product in your Shopify admin. This product will be the upsell that’s offered at checkout. Once you’ve created the product, you need to add it to yourShopify Payments settings.

In your Shopify Payments settings, you’ll see an option to enable one-click upsells. When you enable this option, you’ll be able to select the product that will be offered as an upsell at checkout.

Once you’ve enabled one-click upsells and selected the product that will be offered as an upsell, customers who use Shopify Payments will be able to purchase the upsell with just one click at checkout.

Are one-click upsells worth using?

One-click upsells are definitely worth using if you’re looking for ways to increase your average order value. They’re also worth using if you have a product that complements the products in your customers’ carts.

If you don’t have a high-margin product or a complementary product, then one-click upsells may not be worth using. You should always test different strategies and see what works best for your store before making any decisions
