Does Shopify Use JSON?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:12 pm

Shopify is a platform for businesses of all sizes to create an online store. It offers users a customizable platform, an easy-to-use checkout process, and a wide range of features.

PRO TIP: JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data-interchange format. It is easy for humans to read and write. It is easy for machines to parse and generate. It is based on a subset of the JavaScript Programming Language, Standard ECMA-262 3rd Edition – December 1999. JSON is a text format that is completely language independent but uses conventions that are familiar to programmers of the C-family of languages (C, C++, JavaScript, and so on). These properties make JSON an ideal data-interchange language.

Shopify is built on the Ruby on Rails framework and uses the Liquid template language. It also uses JavaScript for its front-end development. JSON is not used by Shopify.

Shopify uses Ruby on Rails for its back-end development and JavaScript for its front-end development.
