Does Squarespace Have Backups?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:12 am

Squarespace is a popular website builder that offers users a simple drag-and-drop interface for creating beautiful websites. One of the questions we often get asked is whether Squarespace has backups of your site in case something goes wrong.

The answer is yes! Squarespace automatically backs up your site every hour, and you can also create manual backups at any time.

If you need to restore your site from a backup, you can do so from the Home Menu in your Squarespace account.

PRO TIP: Backing up your Squarespace site is important to prevent data loss. There are a few ways to back up your site:

1) Use the Export/Import feature in your Site Manager. This will export all of your content, including pages, posts, galleries, and blog comments.

2) Use a third-party backup service. We recommend using CodeGuard, which offers automatic backups and restore points.

3) Manually back up your site files. This includes your site’s CSS, Javascript, and image files. You can do this by downloading these files from your Site Manager or using an FTP client.

Squarespace also stores backups off-site in case of a disaster, so you can be confident that your website is safe and sound.

So there you have it! Yes, Squarespace has backups of your site in case something goes wrong. And if you ever need to restore your site from a backup, you can do so easily from the Home Menu in your account.
