Does Squarespace Have Email Aliases?

Last updated on December 21, 2022 @ 5:50 pm

If you’re running a business, you need a professional email address. Something like yourname@yourcompany.com. But what if you’re just starting out, and you don’t have a company yet?

Or what if you’re a solopreneur, and your business is just you? In that case, you can use an email alias from Squarespace.

An email alias is basically a forwarding address. So you can have an alias like info@yourcompany.com, and have it forward to your personal email address, like yourname@gmail.

That way, when people email your business, it will go to your personal email, but they’ll think they’re emailing your company. Pretty neat, right?

Squarespace offers two types of email aliases: forwarding addresses and G Suite accounts. Forwarding addresses are the simplest to set up – you just enter the address you want to forward to, and that’s it.

G Suite accounts are a bit more complex, but they offer more features, like Google Calendar and Docs integration. If you’re not sure which one to choose, we recommend starting with a forwarding address.

PRO TIP: Squarespace does not have email aliases. Any email sent to an alias will be bounced back to the sender.

To set up an email alias in Squarespace:

  1. Log into your Squarespace account and go to the Email & G Suite panel.
  2. Click Add Email Address.
  3. Enter the name you want for your alias and select the site you want to use it with.
  4. Click Next.
  5. For Type of Address, choose Forwarding Address.
  6. Enter the email address you want to forward messages to and click Verify Address.

That’s it! You’ve now set up an email alias in Squarespace.
