Does Squarespace Use Google Analytics 4?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:13 am

Squarespace is a popular website builder and hosting service. It offers users a simple, drag-and-drop interface for creating and maintaining websites.

One of the most popular features of Squarespace is its built-in Google Analytics integration. This allows users to track their website’s traffic and performance using Google’s powerful tools.

PRO TIP: Google Analytics 4 is still in beta and Squarespace has not yet announced whether or not they will be supporting it. Use at your own risk!

However, recent changes to Google Analytics have led some to question whether Squarespace is still using the platform. Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is the latest version of the service, and it introduces some significant changes. Notably, GA4 places a greater emphasis on user privacy, which could conflict with Squarespace’s business model.

It’s still unclear whether Squarespace is using GA4 or not. The company has not made any public announcements on the matter. However, some users have reported seeing GA4 tracking code on their websites after upgrading to the latest version of Squarespace.

If Squarespace is indeed using GA4, it could be a major advantage over its competitors. GA4 offers many new features that could help Squarespace users track their website’s performance more effectively. However, only time will tell if Squarespace decides to fully embrace GA4 or not.
