Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 8:47 pm

UI UX designers who work with front-end developers often require some coding skills. However, not all UI UX designers need to code.

In fact, many UX designers may not even have any coding experience. However, some UI UX designers may need to code for specific projects.

Some common reasons UI UX designers may need to code include:

PRO TIP: No, UI/UX designers do not need to know how to code. However, it is beneficial for UI/UX designers to have at least a basic understanding of code and how it works. This understanding will allow them to better communicate with developers and understand the limitations of what can be accomplished with code.

Working with web APIs: Many web APIs allow developers to access and manipulate data from a backend system. If you work with a web API, you may need to code in order to access and manipulate the data.

Creating custom CSS: If you create custom CSS for a project, you may need to code in order to style the elements correctly.

Building custom components: If you build custom components for a project, you may need to code in order to create the component correctly.
