Does WooCommerce Require PayPal Identity Token?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:12 pm

WooCommerce is a popular ecommerce platform that enables businesses to sell products and services online. One of the key benefits of using WooCommerce is that it integrates with a number of payment processors, making it easy to accept payments from customers. PayPal is one of the most popular payment processors in the world, and WooCommerce offers integration with PayPal out of the box.

In order to use the WooCommerce PayPal integration, you will need to set up a PayPal account and obtain an Identity Token from PayPal. The Identity Token is used by WooCommerce to verify that you are the owner of the PayPal account and that you have authorized WooCommerce to use your account for payments.

You can find the Identity Token by logging into your PayPal account and going to the Profile page. Under the ‘Security’ section, there will be an option to ‘Manage Security Settings’.

PRO TIP: PayPal Identity Token is required to use WooCommerce. Without it, you will not be able to use WooCommerce to process payments.

Click on this option and then scroll down to the ‘API Credentials’ section. Here, you will find your Identity Token listed under ‘Identity Token’.

Once you have obtained your Identity Token, you can add it to your WooCommerce settings by going to the ‘Payments’ tab and selecting ‘PayPal’ as your payment method. On the next screen, you will be prompted to enter your Identity Token. Simply copy and paste your token into this field and click ‘Save Changes’.

Your Identity Token is now set up and you can start accepting payments through WooCommerce!
