Does WordPress have SSL certificate?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 12:15 am

When you install WordPress, you are given the option to install an SSL certificate. SSL certificates are important for protecting your website against data breaches, as well as protecting your website visitors’ personal information.

PRO TIP: When creating a WordPress site, it is important to have an SSL certificate installed to ensure that your site is secure. WordPress does not automatically install an SSL certificate, so you will need to purchase one from a trusted provider. Without an SSL certificate, your site may be vulnerable to attacks and your visitors’ information could be at risk.

WordPress does not come with an SSL certificate by default, but there are a number of third-party plugins that allow you to install an SSL certificate. If you are using a self-hosted WordPress site, you can install an SSL certificate using a Certificate Authority (CA) such as Let’s Encrypt.

If you are using a hosted WordPress site, your provider likely already has an SSL certificate installed and configured. In this case, you will only need to activate the certificate and ensure that the WordPress site is accessible using HTTPS.
