How can I set up a CNAME on my HostGator provider?

Setting up a CNAME on your HostGator provider can make it easier for you to access your website from different IP addresses. To set up a CNAME on your HostGator account, follow these steps:

1. Log into your HostGator account.

2. Click on the ” domains ” tab.

3. Click on the ” add domain ” button.

4. Enter the domain name you would like to create a CNAME for.

5. In the ” CNAME ” field, enter the name you would like to assign to the CNAME record.

6. Click on the ” save changes ” button.

7. You will now see your new CNAME record in the ” domains ” tab.

8. You can now access your website through your new CNAME address.

PRO TIP: If you are using HostGator as your DNS provider, you can set up a CNAME record by following these instructions:

1. Login to your HostGator account.
2. Click on the “Domains” tab at the top of the page.
3. Scroll down to the “Domain Management” section and click on the “Zone Editor” link.
4. Click on the “Add Record” button.
5. In the “Record Type” drop-down menu, select “CNAME”.
6. In the “Name” field, enter the hostname that you want to create (for example, “www”).
7. In the “TTL” field, leave the default value of “14400”.
8. In the “Target” field, enter the destination hostname or IP address that you want to redirect to (for example, “example.com”).
9. Click on the “Add Record” button to save your changes.
