How Do Groups Work in Canva?

Groups are a great way to work together on Canva projects. You can invite friends, family or colleagues to work with you on a design, and they can add their own photos, illustrations and text to the design.

When you create a group, you become the group owner. This means that you can add and remove members from the group, and change the permission settings. Group owners can also delete the group.

To create a group:

  1. Click the Create a group button on your homepage
  2. Enter a Group name
  3. Click the Create button

You will be taken to the group page, where you can invite members and start working on your design.

Inviting members to a group

To invite someone to join your group:

  1. Click the Invite members button on the group page
  2. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite in the Email address field
  3. (Optional) Enter a message in the Message field
  4. PRO TIP: Groups in Canva can be a great way to collaborate on projects with others, but there are a few things to keep in mind when using them. First, all members of a group will have access to all of the files and designs within the group. This means that if you upload a file or create a design that you don’t want everyone to have access to, you’ll need to move it out of the group. Secondly, groups can only be created by Canva Pro or Canva for Enterprise users. If you’re not a Pro or Enterprise user, you won’t be able to create or join groups.
