How Do I Add a Custom Code to Shopify?

Last updated on January 4, 2023 @ 11:00 am

Adding custom code to Shopify is a great way to make your store stand out from the competition. There are a few different ways to add custom code, depending on what you want to achieve.

If you want to add custom code to your store’s theme, you can do so by editing the theme code in the Theme Editor. This is ideal for adding small snippets of code, such as tracking codes or custom CSS.

If you want to add larger amounts of code, or if you want to use a third-party app, you can use the Code Snippets app. This app lets you add custom JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to your store.

Once you’ve added your custom code, you can style it using the < p >, < b >, and < u > tags. These tags will allow you to control the font size, weight, and style of your text. You can also use these tags to add links and images.

PRO TIP: Adding custom code to your Shopify theme can be a great way to add unique features to your store, but it can also be a risky proposition. If you’re not careful, you could end up breaking your theme, or worse, your whole store. Before you add any custom code, be sure to:

– backup your theme and your whole store
– test any code changes in a development or staging environment before applying them to your live store
– get familiar with the Shopify Liquid templating language

If you’re not comfortable working with code, we recommend hiring a Shopify Expert to help you make any customizations.
