As a web developer, you may find yourself in a situation where you need to add a custom element to a Wix site. While Wix does provide some basic HTML elements, there may be times when you need something more. In this article, we’ll show you how to add a custom element to Wix and style it with HTML.

First, let’s take a look at how to add a custom element to Wix. To do this, you’ll need to use the “Add” button in the Wix editor. Once you click on this button, a new window will open up.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

In this window, you’ll see a list of different elements that you can add to your site. Scroll down until you find the “Custom” element. Once you’ve found it, click on the “Add” button next to it.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with HTML and CSS, we recommend that you consult with a web development professional before adding a custom element to your Wix site. Adding a custom element can potentially break the design of your site, and may require additional coding in order to fix.

Now that you’ve added the custom element to your site, it’s time to style it with HTML. To do this, simply double-click on the element and a new window will open up.

In this window, you’ll see a blank area where you can enter your HTML code. Simply enter your code and then click on the “Update” button.

And that’s all there is to it! By following these steps, you can easily add a custom element to your Wix site and style it with HTML.
