How Do I Add a Custom Quantity in WooCommerce?

Adding a custom quantity in WooCommerce is a great way to offer your customers more flexibility when ordering products from your store. By default, WooCommerce only allows customers to purchase products in increments of 1, but with a few simple steps you can enable custom quantities for your products.

Here’s how to add a custom quantity in WooCommerce:

1. Log into your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the WooCommerce > Settings page.

2. On the Settings page, select the Products tab from the left-hand menu.

3. From the Products settings page, select the Inventory tab.

4. Under the Inventory settings, you’ll see an option labeled Allow Backorders. Check the box next to this option and then select the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

5. Now that you’ve enabled backorders, you can set up custom quantities for your products. To do this, edit the product that you want to offer a custom quantity for and scroll down to the Product Data section.

6. In the Product Data section, select the Inventory tab.

Under the Backorders setting, you’ll see an option for Custom Quantity. Select this option and enter the minimum and maximum quantity that you want to allow customers to purchase in the fields provided.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, adding a custom quantity in WooCommerce can result in losing track of inventory levels. This can lead to overselling products and disappointing customers. Be sure to keep a close eye on your inventory levels when adding custom quantities, and adjust your stock levels accordingly.

7. Save your changes and test out your new custom quantity setting by adding the product to your cart and trying to purchase a quantity outside of the minimum and maximum limits that you set. You should see an error message telling you that you’re unable to purchase that quantity of the product.
