Last updated on December 12, 2022 @ 1:24 pm

There are two ways to add a section in Squarespace:

    1. Use the drag and drop editor to add a new section.

    2. Add a new page and then add a new section to that page.

To add a new section using the drag and drop editor:

  1. Log into your Squarespace account and go to the Home Menu.

  2. PRO TIP: Adding a section in Squarespace is a simple process, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, make sure you are in the Edit mode for your site. Then, click on the Add Section button in the upper right corner of the screen.

A new window will pop up with a variety of section options. Choose the one that best fits your needs and then click on the Add button.

Once you’ve added a section, you can then add content to it by clicking on the Edit button. Be sure to save your changes before exiting Edit mode.

  3. Hover over the page you want to add a section to and click the Edit button.

  4. Click the Add Content button.

  5. Drag and drop a Section onto your page.

To add a new section to an existing page:

  1. Log into your Squarespace account and go to the Home Menu.

  2. “+” sign next to “Page Sections”

  3. (Optional) To put your new page in a specific location, click and drag it until it’s in the correct spot. Otherwise, it will be added to the end of your navigation.

(Optional) Under “Page Attributes”, select a Navigation Label for your Page. This is what visitors will see in your site navigation.

(Optional) If you want this page to be the home page of your site, check the Home Page checkbox under “Advanced Options”.

(Optional) If you want this page to have its own URL, enter a slug under “Advanced Options”. Otherwise, we’ll generate one for you based on the Navigation Label.

(Optional) If you don’t want this page appearing in your navigation, uncheck Show in Navigation under “Advanced Options”.

  4. (Required): Click Save & Publish at the top of the screen.
  5. Congratulations! You’ve created a new page on your site.
