How Do I Add a Twitter Feed to Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:54 am

Twitter is a social media platform that allows users to share short updates or thoughts in 140 characters or less. You can follow other users and see their updates in your Twitter feed. You can also share images, videos, and links with your followers.

If you have a Squarespace website, you can add a Twitter feed to it so your visitors can see your latest tweets. To do this, you’ll need to create a Twitter application and then connect it to your Squarespace account.

Creating a Twitter application is a simple process. Just go to the Twitter Developers website and log in with your Twitter account. Once you’re logged in, click on “Create New App” and fill out the required information.

You’ll need to provide a name and description for your app, as well as a website URL. The website URL doesn’t have to be your Squarespace website, but it does need to be a valid URL. Once you’ve created your app, click on the “Keys and Access Tokens” tab.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that adding a Twitter feed to Squarespace can be a complicated process. There are many steps involved and it is important to follow all of the instructions carefully. Failure to do so could result in your Twitter feed not appearing on your Squarespace site, or worse, causing problems with your site’s layout or functionality.

On this page, you’ll find your Consumer Key and Consumer Secret. These two pieces of information are used to connect your Twitter application to your Squarespace account. Copy both the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret and head over to your Squarespace account.

In the Home Menu, click on “Settings” and then “Connected Accounts”. Scroll down until you see the Twitter section and click on “Connect Account”. Paste your Consumer Key and Consumer Secret into the appropriate fields and click “Connect”.

Once you’ve connected your Twitter account, you can customize how your tweets are displayed on your Squarespace website. In the Home Menu, click on “Design” and then “Site Styles”.

Scroll down to the Social Links section and click on “Twitter”. Here you can choose how many tweets to display, what size avatar to use, and other options. When you’re finished customizing, click “Save”.

Your Squarespace website is now connected to your Twitter account! Now when you tweet, your latest tweets will automatically be added to your website
