How Do I Add an Add to Cart URL in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 11:24 pm

If you’re running a WooCommerce store, you’ve probably noticed that there’s no Add to Cart URL listed in the product data. This can be frustrating if you want to share a direct link to a product, or if you’re using a tool that needs an Add to Cart URL. Thankfully, there’s a relatively easy way to add an Add to Cart URL in WooCommerce.

In your WordPress dashboard, go to WooCommerce > Settings. Then, go to the Products tab and select the Display tab.

At the bottom of the page, you’ll see the Add to Cart Behavior section. Here, you can select one of three options for how the Add to Cart button behaves:

Add to Cart – This option will take the customer directly to the cart page when they click the Add to Cart button. If you choose this option, you can also specify whether or not to redirect customers to the cart page after adding a product to their cart.

Redirect – This option will take the customer directly to the checkout page when they click the Add to Cart button. Stay on Same Page – This option will keep customers on the same page when they click the Add to Cart button. A message will appear confirming that the item has been added to their cart.

If you select either the Add to Cart or Redirect option, you’ll be able to specify whether or not customers should be redirected after adding a product to their cart. If you don’t want customers redirected after adding a product, simply uncheck the box next to “RedirectToCart.” Once you’ve made your selections, be sure to click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

Now that you’ve configured how the Add to Cart button behaves, it’s time to add your first product! In your WordPress dashboard, go to Products > Add New. Here, you’ll be able to enter all of your product information, including its name, price, description, and image.

Once you’ve entered all of your product information, scroll down to the Product Data section. Here, you’ll see a field for Entering Prices.

In this field, you’ll need to enter both your regular and sale price (if applicable). Once you’ve done that, scroll down a bit further and you’ll see an Add To Cart button URL field. Simply enter your direct link here and click “Publish” at the top of the page!

And that’s it! You’ve successfully added an Add To Cart URL in WooCommerce.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to add an “add to cart” URL in WooCommerce, be aware that this could potentially create a security vulnerability on your site. By allowing users to directly add items to their cart via a URL, they could bypass any security measures you have in place (such as requiring a user to be logged in before adding an item to their cart). If you do decide to add an “add to cart” URL, be sure to take extra precautions to secure your site.

Conclusion:

Adding an add-to-cart URL in WooCommerce is easy! Simply go into your product settings and choose how you want your add-to-cart button behave.
