How do I add an image to a Joomla component?

Last updated on December 26, 2022 @ 11:40 am

Adding an image to a Joomla component can be a little tricky, depending on the component. For example, adding an image to a front-end component such as a header or footer may require using an external plugin.

For other components, such as articles or blog posts, you can simply add an image file to the component’s folder and include it in your page.

To add an image to a Joomla component, first determine the component’s location. For example, if you’re adding an image to a header or footer, the image file will need to be placed in the component’s folder. Next, locate the image file on your computer and copy it to the component’s folder.

Finally, include the image in your page using the component’s associated template. For example, if the image file is named myimage.jpg, you would include it in the document’s section using the following code:.

PRO TIP: Adding images to a Joomla component can be tricky and may result in unexpected behavior. Be sure to test your changes thoroughly before going live.
<img src="myimage.jpg" />

If the image is located in a plugin, you will need to include the plugin’s URL in thesection as well. For example, if the image is located in the Joomla! Image Gallery plugin, you would include the following code:

<img src="http://www.mysite.com/plugins/Joomla-image-gallery/images/myimage.jpg"/>

Finally, add a closing tag to the section of your page.
