How do I add CNAME to Namecheap?

Adding CNAME records to Namecheap is a simple process that can be completed in just a few minutes. To add a CNAME record, log in to your Namecheap account and navigate to the Domains page. On this page, you will find all of the active domains that are registered with Namecheap. Next, click on the “Add CNAME” link next to the domain that you would like to add a CNAME record to. This will open a new window, where you will be able to enter the desired CNAME record details.

PRO TIP: Namecheap is a great domain registrar and hosting provider, however, their cPanel interface can be a little confusing for first-time users. In order to add a CNAME record to your Namecheap account, you will need to login to your Namecheap account and navigate to the ‘Domain List’ page. From here, click on the ‘Manage Domains’ button for the domain you wish to add the CNAME record to. On the next page, scroll down to the ‘Advanced DNS’ section and click on the ‘Add New Record’ button. In the ‘Record Type’ drop-down menu, select ‘CNAME’. Enter the ‘Host Name’ and ‘Points To’ values for your CNAME record and then click on the ‘Add Record’ button. Your CNAME record should now be added and should propagate within a few hours.

To complete the CNAME record, you will need to provide the hostname (or IP address) of the domain that you would like to redirect traffic to. Once you have completed the CNAME record details, click on the “Save Changes” button to submit your changes. Finally, you will need to confirm your CNAME record changes by clicking on the “Confirm” button. Once your CNAME record has been confirmed, your redirect will be active and traffic will be redirected to the new hostname (or IP address) that you have specified.
